Strengthening agri-food and textile sectors: Three new Pact for Skills RSPs upskilling workers to drive regional competitiveness
This summer, the Pact for Skills launched three new Regional Skills Partnerships (RSPs) that aim to build a long-term, coordinated approach to upskilling and reskilling across the regions’ agri-food and textile ecosystems.
Two RSPs come from the agri-food sector. The Campania RSP aims to make agri-food jobs more attractive to young people and sustainably grow the sector and help smaller agricultural producers through opportunities for lifelong learning, skills certification and digitalisation.
Similarly, the Piemonte RSP is building a long-term culture of upskilling and reskilling for the region’s agri-food sector. The RSP is focusing on vocational education and training to deal with the changing job profiles of workers due to factors like seasonal work, automation and changes to the environment.
The RSP for Textile Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is focused on sustainability in textiles. The RSP assists companies in meeting the evolving skills requirements related to recycled dyeing, eco-design, and training future trainers, resulting from increasing energy costs, limited raw materials, and the needs of ecological transition.
Euronews report celebrates EU-funded ‘CPIFP Javier Imbroda’ helping Andalusian workers enter the aerospace industry
As part of the Pact for Skills, the CPIFP Javier Imbroda institute aligns education with labour market needs while expanding access across age groups.
With a focus on mobility, women, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers, it embodies the goals of the Union of Skills initiative – helping students and workers to change career paths and gain the training they need. CPIFP Javier Imbroda is the largest vocational education project in Andalusia and received funding from the European Social Fund Plus initiative. As part of the ‘Make it Work’ video series, Euronews interviewed students at the institute to find out how the centre is training students for a career in the aerospace industry.
The Euronews story explains that CPIFP Javier Imbroda provides opportunities for people seeking a career change and has committed to helping students and workers gain the training they need to pursue their professional goals, launching careers across Europe.
Member spotlight: InnoGlobal transforms industrial workforce through Pact for Skills collaboration
This month, we interviewed InnoGlobal, a leading Skills and Technology institute, to find out what motivated them to join the Pact for Skills.
They shared the key lessons and the outcomes of their work, which have contributed to the EU funded project Skills Alliance for the Green, Digital and Social Transformation of the Energy Intensive Industries’ (Skills4EII) target of reaching 2.3 million workers annually by 2025.
Through the Pact for Skills, InnoGlobal collaborates with other Pact for Skills members like the Industry 5.0 Community of Practice and the Skills4EII initiative, spanning 34 partners across 11 EU Member States.
Encouraging other organisations that have not yet joined the Pact, they said,
‘Companies – particularly SMEs – should see the Pact for Skills as a gateway to innovation, funding, and peer learning in workforce development […] We’ve saved months of development time by adapting resources shared by the Pact community. For SMEs with limited capacity, this is a game-changer.’
